Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI)

The Ministry of FORESTS, LANDS, NATURAL RESOURCE OPERATIONS & RURAL DEVELOPMENT, BC TIMBER SALES, SEAWARD-TLASTA BUSINESS AREA is requesting expressions of interest from interested parties for the supply of Bridge Asset Storage and Relocation by providing the following services:
Provide and maintain a safe, secure, and level storage yard measuring a minimum of 50 meters by 100 meters for the exclusive use of BC Timber Sales. The storage yard must be:
o Easily accessible by highway and off-highway lowbeds and must provide ample road access to facilitate lowbed turn around, and
o Located within 20 kilometres from 2217 Mine Road Port McNeill, B.C. BC Timber Sales Office Seaward (tlasta) Business Area.·
Provide all necessary equipment including, but not limited to, heavy machinery, shackles, chains, and lifting clutches that may be required to complete the following work:
o Loading and unloading bridges, culverts, and other miscellaneous items up to 45,000 pounds on and off land and marine transport vehicles.
o Transporting bridges, culverts, and other miscellaneous items up to 78,000 pounds per load within the BC Timber Sales Seaward Business Area on Vancouver Island.
Provide Certified Welder services and all necessary tools and materials to complete welding and shaping of steel bridge components.
Provide general labour to paint, sweep, clean bridges, assist in bridge loading and unloading (i.e., spotter) or to carry out any other general duties.
Must be able to comply with requests for the above services within 24 hours of notification.
This RFEI is intended to determine whether there is sufficient market interest to proceed to a competitive bidding process. In the event there is sufficient interest in this requirement, the Ministry may, but is not obligated to, initiate a competitive bidding opportunity.
Interested parties are invited to respond to this RFEI by submitting a letter to the Province that includes a brief statement of the nature of their interest in the Ministry's requirement. Responses should only include a statement of interest and should not include any other information or qualifications.
There will be no evaluation, ranking, or selection of vendors as a result of this RFEI; it will not be used to pre-qualify or screen vendors for a subsequent competitive bidding process, if any.
If subsequent competitive bidding opportunities are issued, the Ministry is under no obligation to advise any vendor responding to this RFEI. Vendors should monitor the BC Bid website (www.bcbid.ca) for such opportunities, which will be open to all vendors, whether or not a response to this RFEI was submitted.
