Description

INTENT OF SPECIFICATIONS
It shall be the intent of these specifications to cover the furnishing and delivery of a complete NFPA 1901 and ULC S515 current edition compliant fire apparatus. All

The basic criteria identified in this specification are:
• Commercial Chassis Firefighting Rescue Engine with 3500 Liters (750 Imp gallons) of water, and 5000 L/min (1050 IGPM) fire pump
• Maximum compartmentation
• Reputable Manufacturer with history of manufacturing fire apparatus
o Minimum twenty (20) years in business
• Warranty details supplied by manufacturer

These specifications describe the essential requirements for construction and performance of the apparatus and associated equipment shall cover the requirements as to the type of construction and test to which the apparatus shall conform, together with certain details as to finish, equipment and appliances with which the successful bidder shall conform. Minor details of construction and materials, which are not otherwise specified, are left to the discretion of the contractor. The manufacturer shall provide loose equipment only when specified by the customer. Otherwise, in accordance with NFPA 1901 and ULC S515, Current edition, the proposal shall specify whether the fire department or apparatus dealership shall provide required loose equipment. Proposals shall only be considered from companies that have an established reputation in the field of fire apparatus construction and have been in business for a minimum of 20 years.
