19-1769 - Building Performance Optimization Consultant Team for Household Hazardous Waste

The City of Calgary requires a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) building/transfer station to receive, sort, pack and temporarily store HHW materials, such as paint, aerosol cans, batteries, PCB, etc., pending shipping to final disposal centres or to commercial customers for recycling.
The facility must be operated in accordance with Alberta Environment and Protection’s Hazardous Waste Storage Guidelines. This project will include the planning, design, construction and commissioning of a new HHW building/transfer station. The facility is necessary to support the City of Calgary’s HHW management program while complying with environmental regulations.
The facility will be located at the East Calgary Waste Management Facility, 3801 68 Street, SE Calgary, AB, immediately east of the existing Throw & Go facility. The proposed location is approximately 16,465m2 and is bound by a petroleum pipeline to the north, roads to the east and south, and the Throw & Go facility to the west.
The City of Calgary requires the services of a Building Performance Optimization Consultant Team, henceforth reffered to as the Consultant in this RFP, to complete energy modelling to help inform decision making while meeting building code requirements, and to complete enhanced commissioning services for energy related systems as well as the building envelope. These consultant services are required for the full design through to post construction of the project and is expected to consist of the following phases:
Phase 1 – Site Assessment and Pre-design;
Phase 2 – Design;
Phase 3 – Construction Procurement and Administration; and
Phase 4 – Post Construction

This RFP is open to all interested vendors.

This procurement process is not intended to create, and will not create, a formal legally binding process. It will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
