The Internal; Audit Group (IAG) is implementing an analytics strategy to capitalize on the availability of data from business activities and other sources to gain a better understanding of data integrity and model risk and provide a greater degree of assurance and insights by integrating data analytics in the traditional audit process. Becoming a Data Analytics-enabled Internal Audit (DAEIA) function relies on the fundamental building blocks of people, processes, and technology, all being informed by an analytics strategy. This requires embedding analytics into the audit lifecycle, focusing on the right risks at the right time while aligning analytics to the Internal Audit (IA) strategy and value proposition for the organization. This will require a data analytics technology platform that supports end-to-end workflows. An end-to-end data analytics platform is a Business Analytics (BA) application that provide users with the flexibility to perform data mining, visual analytics, model management, as well as optimization scenarios for complex audit needs. The platform includes but is not limited to advanced analytics techniques such as Exploratory Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Prescriptive Analytics, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
