20TDRPSR866 - FACILITY OPERATING AGREEMENT Wyndham Carseland Provincial Park

Alberta’s provincial parks and recreation areas conserve our natural heritage and provide popular nature-based recreation opportunities to visitors from across the province and around the world. They also play a major role in Alberta’s tourism industry, providing opportunities for small businesses and having positive impacts on the economies of many local communities.

Alberta Environment and Parks (the Province) is seeking business entities or non-profit organizations to provide park operations and maintenance services, including at campgrounds and day use areas, for the Wyndham-Carseland Provincial Park.

Wyndham-Carseland Provincial Park is located 2 km east and 2 km south of Carseland on Hwy. 24. Campsites are suited to tents and RVs, with trees and shrubs providing shade and privacy. Wyndham-Carseland is a popular camping destination along the Bow River and includes activities such as fishing, canoeing, or exploring the nature trail along the river. Group camping and comfort camping sites can be reserved here as well. The campground includes 178 camping sites, a day use area, 4 comfort camping units (canvas walled tents), 3 group camping areas, and other amenities including; a boat launch, a concession, fire pits, pit/vault toilets, a playground, and sewage disposal.

The Facility Operating Agreement will be for a five year term commencing February 15th, 2020.

Primary services provided as part of this Agreement include:
• operation and maintenance of the premises;
• provision of excellent customer service to visitors:
• collection of approved fees from visitors for use of the premises;
• public safety and control;
• managing access to the premises; and
• contacting local authorities for enforcement needs.
