Description

Woodland Caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou) are listed as a Threatened species in Alberta under the Wildlife Act. Alberta is committed to conserving the remaining caribou populations on provincial lands. Aircraft will be required support aerial caribou population recovery work within the Peace Region during January to March, 2020. This will include miscellaneous flying to enable caribou program delivery, including, transporting equipment and biological samples between remote forested sites within caribou ranges in west-central Alberta (Grande Prairie and Grande Cache areas), transporting Alberta Government personnel, and landing in remote forested locations.
