19-10 - Public Works Building B Standby Generator Design & Engineering

The City of Prince Rupert is seeking proposals from qualified proponents in response to this request for proposals for the provision of Services to be carried out within the required schedule set out herein for a suitably qualitied Professional and supporting staff to conduct a design, cost "C" estimate, assist in tendering and construction that will meet the City of Prince Rupert's objective to implement a standby generator for the Public Works Building B. The successful proponent will have all required qualifications and professional abilities that offer sufficient skill and capacity to conduct the detailed design with site specific recommendations.

Scope of Services

The City of Prince Rupert is seeking proposals from Proponents who have the necessary expertise in providing services to conduct this work. The intent of this work is to provide a design, cost "C" estimate, tender and construction support for the installation of a standby generator at PW Building B. The scope of the Work for the Study shall include, but is not limited to the following elements, steps and tasks presented herein:

1. As necessary, review available background information and information pertinent to site conditions that would help conducting the study effectively.

2. Engineering aspects include, but not limited to the following

i) Electrical Engineering Services; Load Calculations, BC Hydro, Electrical Specifications, etc.

ii) Civil Engineering; Site preparation (based on conditions), etc.

iii) Structural Engineering; Generator slab design, etc.


3. Provide to the City a conceptual design.

4. Provide the City with a detailed construction cost "C" estimate for installation.

5. Submit drawings and report for review (Issued for Review/Tender/Construction/Record Documentation).

6. Provide Tender, Construction and Commissioning assistance
