Description

The equipment solicitated in this RFP is required to facilitate the collection of powder x-ray diffraction data of liquid crystals, porous organic/inorganic materials and thin films. This equipment is a critical component of the core infrastructure associated with an emerging nucleus of researchers in materials science and main-group chemistry at York University. The efficient collection and processing of research-grade, publication-ready powder X-ray diffraction data from samples is central to rapidly analyze new materials as they are synthesized in our chemistry research groups. The research facilitated by this infrastructure will examine important structural parameters and architectures of the new hitherto unknown molecular species and materials, as well as their architecture in the solid state.
