Description

INTRODUCTION
The Toronto Police Service is seeking a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution for the 9-1-1 system through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Intelligent Automation (IA).

The solution must have minimal customization and must be deployed within a short timeframe.

It is expected that this project is the first phase of a collaborative relationship to develop other technological improvements to enhance TPS Communications Services. TPS is particularly interested in innovative ways to respond to non-emergency calls for service, thereby improving its response to emergency calls for service.

Based on the initial and successful implementation of the first phase, TPS may engage the selected proponent for up to a three (3) year term with an option to extend the contract for an additional one (1) year term subject to funding and Board approval. The selected proponent will be required to provide project costing prior to commencement of each project initiative during the term and is subject to further funding approval. TPS shall not guarantee any volume of work.

OBJECTIVES
The objective of this RFP is to enable TPS to identify a prospective and qualified vendor for the implementation of an RPA solution as defined by the Institute for Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence.
The intent of this RPA solution for TPS is to support automation of tasks and processes.

TPS expects this initiative to be the basis for future technological development to address key technical advances including voice recognition and translation, use of chat bot’s for non-emergency calls, reconciling multiple calls, and advanced analytics.

Deliverables
The proposed technology must be able to identify and select the correct 9-1-1 calls, redact appropriate content, transcribe the redacted audio and finally attach these redacted materials within the case file so that it can be disclosed as part of a package during a court proceeding. The solution must have the capability to automate the intake process and report.
