Description

Requirements:

In 2007, TVO implemented a Digital Storage and Retrieval system to manage high definition digital video assets. The original LTO4 library component of the system was upgraded to LTO5 in 2011.
TVO is now embarking on a project to reduce the Data Centre footprint. TVO will take this opportunity to procure a new LTO7 tape library that will accommodate the resulting space limitations and also provide faster and higher capacity content archive capability.
Additionally, TVO wants to investigate the possibility of consolidating the functionality of this new digital archive library with the enterprise tape backup library. Specifically, allocate five tape drives to Masstech archive software, and two tape drives to CommVault backup software.

Following are the specifications and requirements:

The library must fit into a fixed space of 90 inches in length by 100 inches in depth
(This includes access space and is fixed). Please see LTO7 Library Floor Layout pdf. Attachment.
The capacity must be approximately 950 LTO tape slots
The library must be capable of partitioning.
The library must be capable of being shared by multiple ISV’s (ie Five LTO7 tape drives in two partitions for Masstech, two tape drives in one partition for CommVault).
The library must support both LTO5 and LTO7 tape media (for the migration period).
The library must be capable of being upgraded in-place to next generations of tape technology.
The library must have the option of being managed through a browser and\or Windows application
Credit and removal for IBM TS3500 (L53, D53, S54 frames)
Warranty period options of one and three years. (Budget considerations will apply to determine length of warranty chosen)
Library to be installed and functioning by May 22, 2018 and old tape library removed by June 1, 2018
