DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICES
The Services include the following activities (non-exhaustive) through a collaborative team approach with Manitoba Hydro’s staff:
Conduct Current State Assessment
(a) Work with Hydro to understand the scope and desired capability of an enterprise work management
system using the existing enterprise applications including SAP and BMC Remedy.
(b) Interview Hydro business and technical staff from the following areas to review the documented
business requirements and processes (average of 2 days per area anticipated):
i) Information Technology Services (ITS)
ii) Generation & Wholesale (G&W)
iii) Marketing & Customer Service (M&CS)
iv) Human Resources & Corporate Services (HR&CS).
(c) Compile and prioritize functional requirements.
(d) Evaluate Hydro's readiness for an enterprise work management system including an analysis of
the current corporate network, security, system architecture and data model (systems of record).
Recommend Enterprise Solution
(a) Identify all technical, security and other applicable requirements as they relate to work
management.
(b) Identify recommended system architecture and data model (systems of record).
(c) Assess the integration requirements between existing systems such as, BMC Remedy and
SAP, and any additional proposed systems.
(d) Identify improvements to optimize internal processes and data flows.
(e) Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to address extending the use of existing systems to
other areas of Hydro as part of the overall recommended solution.
(f) Document and present design recommendation (include associated
benefits/risks).
(g) Provide guidance and direction on technical and configuration
specifications of the proposed solution.
Propose Implementation Plan
(a) Infrastructure requirements
(b) Resourcing requirements
(c) Cost estimates
(d) Effort (time) estimates
DELIVERABLES
(a) Consultant shall document and provide a project plan for project activities including,
but not limited to:
i) List of required Manitoba Hydro staff, expertise and estimated time commitment
ii) Schedule with milestones
iii) Cost breakdown
iv) Communication plan and risk management
(b) Provide a detailed documented report on enterprise work management solution for Manitoba
Hydro. Topics include (but are not be limited to):
i) Design
(1) System specifications
(2) Licence requirements
(3) Technical, security, compliance and other applicable requirements
(4) Required infrastructure
ii) Work breakdown structure (WBS)
iii) Cost Estimates to implement and support
iv) Time & Effort estimates to implement and support:
(1) Resourcing levels, skillset and experience required for proposed solution
v) Evaluation of the proposed solution relative to the prioritized list of functional requirements
including opportunities to enhance functionality beyond minimum criteria.
vi) Cost benefit of proposed recommended solution(s) and any alternative(s).
vii) Examples of energy utility companies of similar organization structure and customer base which
have implemented the proposed solution (if available).
viii) Risks and potential risk mitigation associated with the proposed solution.
(c) On-site presentation of the recommendation to Manitoba Hydro.
