Description

Scope of Work:
The Work shall consist in all that is required for the complete design, supply and installation of fencing and gates, including fully and completely operable gates, in the Pointe du Bois Spillway Area to meet the Public Water Safety around Dams (PWSD) and Manitoba Hydro Central Security Management System (CSMS) requirements.

The Work will include, but is not limited to the supply of manpower and material for:

ITEM 1 - DESIGN, SUPPLY AND INSTALL FENCING AND GATES
ITEM 1 includes, but is not limited to:
(a)          Design finalization of both grounded and non-conductive fencing types and pedestrian gates
(b)          Removal and disposal of existing fencing and jersey barriers where required to allow transitioning to existing structure
(c)           Grading to accommodate fencing and foundation preparation for fence and gate posts
(d)          Installation of grounded chain link fence and man gates and non-conductive fence, including wingwall fencing where fence meets waterbody
(e)          Installation of Purchaser’s supplied signage on chain-link fence
(f)           Full removal and disposal of existing chain link gate at west side peninsula access location
(g)          Retrofit of existing chain link fence to accommodate installation of Delta gate at west side peninsula access location
(h)          Removal of any barriers that may interfere with the installation of new gates and fencing
(i)            Installation of Delta gates at:
i)             West Side Peninsula Entrance
ii)            West Spillway Access
(1)          At both Delta gate locations, installation of:
A)           Gate operators
B)           Vehicle detection loops
C)           Incidental gate sensors
D)           Pedestals with card readers, cameras, and phones
(2)          At the west side peninsula:
A)           Installation of power pole with power transition and conduit for fibre
B)           Installation of distribution panel and meter to power security and gate control panels
(3)          At the west spillway access:
A)           Installation of armoured fibre optic cable from spillway hoist house fibre patch panel to gate control panel
B)           Delivery of power to gate security and control panels from hoist house and lighting panel
(j)            Installation of bollards at gate locations where required and/or as shown on drawings and specifications
(k)           Commissioning of Delta gates
(l)            Provision for training of Purchaser’s Staff in the operation of the gates and any other contractor supplied equipment
(m)         Supply of Operation & Maintenance manuals for all gates and other equipment
